High Hangover

Ugh. The high hangover. It's The Beast's way of getting back at me for ignoring it ever so slightly for an hour or so last night. I've been so good following my low carb diet and people it's HARD! Maybe I'm a really bad diabetic but I seriously didn't realize there were were so many carbs in so many different foods. My whole life (well all 17 years with the The Beast) I've had a long list of "free" foods, cheese, nuts, coffee, vegetables, all condiments and ... fruit. Yes fruit is the most concerning on that list, I honestly am not sure I ever thought about it but I haven't taken insulin for fruit until maybe 3 months ago. So theres that. But then to add insult to injury did you know that there are like serious carbs in a lot of vegetables? I for one did not. So in an effort to follow a VERY low carb diet (no meals above 15 carbs total, no snacks above 10, more on this later) I've really had to scale back on my "free foods" and most foods in general. This means no pasta, potato, rice, bread, cupcakes (ouch), really not many foods fit into the 10-15g rule. Which leads me to last night, everything had been going so wonderfully and then someone ordered cheese, delicious, hot, steamy, nachos. I checked my Dex, I tossed a SWAG bolus (SWAG BOLUS -Scientific, Wild Assed Guess, thanks to Kerri from Six Until me blog) into my pump and went on my merry way. Well I was high all night, I corrected, and corrected and corrected and now I'm officially in a rage bolus state.

I'm standing still at a solid 200 and haven't moved all morning, despite my zero carb intake as well as rage bolus-ing status. Being high sucks.
